i'm looking at purchasing drumbeat and dreamweaver to create a website that will allow internet users the ability to submit information and files over the internet via a submission form on my website to a database and have the information post live to my website.  I've heard of cold fusion and visual interdev but i'm not sure what is right for me.  does anyone have any recommendations.

Try Drumbeat. You can do that all with Drumbeat w/o dreamweaver. I have never tried cold fusion and visual interdev.
Drumbeat is somewhat hard to get used to at first though since it is really different than most html editors that I have tried since it uses css style which gives you a lot more control of were you put things than a program like Dreamweaver gives you (my experience). Plus I was able to do what you want with forms/databases with very little knowledge of ASP or databases in general. You can get a trial version of Drumbeat at Macromedia's site. I wouldn't recommend using both Drumbeat and Dreamweaver on the same site....

its reassuring to here that its working for you.  I have a the trial versions but haven't used them yet because i wanted to see what other people think of them first.  also you said your forms work, on the forms can the users attach image files submit them to your database.

Visual Interdev is really good but has a steeper learning curve.

Drumbeat is powerful and easier to use.

Both generate ASP code.

ColdFusion on the other hand generates CFML code which is only supported by CF Server (about 1-3K) but it has the lowest learning curve of them all.
