need a usb port but no pci slot?

i'm using a handspring visor which needs a usb port. unfortunately, i do not have a usb card. in addition, i have not open pci slots to install a usb card. what can i do?

Two possibilities: check your motherboard manual to see if it supports USB. Some motherboards include the USB controller, but the actual USB connectors are on a separate card which has to be bought separately. Otherwise, you'll have to hunt for a serial port USB adapter--I think such things exist, but it's not an ideal solution because the serial port doesn't have the full USB bandwidth.
