Password and Dial-up connection

When I start a remote connection, Windows shows a wrong default password, so I have to retype it each time. Can anybody help me?
Thanks.

Showing the 'correct' number of asterix's would a allow a potenital hacker to know the length of your password, which would be one of the first steps to having your account hacked.

What do you meen, wrong default password.  Do you meen that the asterix (*) aren't the same count.  Did you try to just connect, without re-typing the password?

Please excuse my english...

sb8gg,
is right, it will prevent people from finding how many letters you're password is composed of.  This will make it a lot more complicated to find it.  It usely puts 10 asterixs every where that  there's a password entered.
