Graphic CANVAS Clear

I would like to use Image1->Canvas to draw many poly lines but don't know how to Clear as fas as I could.I must draw white polygon to clear it.is it faster way how clear Canvas.
if you know another faster way to drawing poly lines.please write me.
DirectX is fine but I don't understand it.

Simple use FillRect. Code may be as :
TRect Rect(Image1->left,...);
Image1->Canvas->FillRect(&Rect);

Yes it runs.
But same slow as polygons.
do you know another way how fast draw?
Do you know sites about programming basic DirectDraw for stupid beginers as me?
