Word--Big Red CX

Inserted a picture on a Word-document. But when I opened it again, instead of the picture I got Big Red X.
What does that mean???
I got the same in one of the attachment-files. Does this means I have lost the picture??? If not, how can I retreive it??

My friend had the same problem in PowerPoint.

Appreciate the help.

Hi Miky,

If you're using Word 97, standard version or SR-1, take a look at this article:
WD97: Picture Displayed as Red "X" in Document
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q162/3/49.asp

If using Word 2000, look at this one:
WD2000: Picture Displayed as Red "X" in Document
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q244/2/02.ASP

For Powerpoint 97, see this one
Q167886 - PPT97: Graphics Displayed as Red X in Presentation
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q167/8/86.ASP

Another article for PowerPoint
Q186870 - PPT97: Red X Appears After Using PowerPoint Add-in or Macro
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q186/8/70.ASP

For more info, go to this site (http://search.microsoft.com/isapi/gosearch.asp?target=/us/default.asp) and type "Red X" in the search box. More articles will show up.

Hope this helps
