I actually posted a question on this subject before. If you are interested, look in my profile for 'Single instance/Multiple "interface"'. You may find that the solution I was offered (by mcrider) and finally accepted was a "communications module" based on the winsock control. Since you have answered my original question correctly, I figured you deserved some points.
