Web Enabling Mainframe

We want to web enable our Mainframe applications. I want to know the  method to connect to mainframe from my webserver(apache). The one I am trying is a terminal emulator software but it is not efficient to be run on server and handle many requests.

Your best bet is to use an application server so you can use a powerful language like Java or something equivalent to facilitate the communication between your apps and the webserver.

What kind of apps are you talking about and what kind of web interface are you looking at?

There are procedures and data in the Mainframe. At present we have some custom interfaces to these procedures through which these procedures can be invoked. This interface uses a terminal emulator to connect to the mainframe. Now we want to have a browser interface to be accessable thru net. I want to know if there are some connectors/emulators/etc that can work with a web/web application server to connect to mainframe.

I am studying the info from the various links provided from you. I also came across Reflection which also has a emulation software.
Will get back very soon.
