What is the differance between NT and W2k. I run linux and NT and 98. I simply put a 200meg fat partition on my first hard drive and NT used it for it's loader. When it's active NT boots. W2k did not do this, it apparently put the temp files on the fat partition and then deleted them. Is it in the MBR. How can I boot W2k from lilo. Where I can find some information would be an OK answer. I would like to keep W2k out of my MBR if I can. Would launching it from 98 solve this, or upgrading NT?

From most points of view, NT and Win2k are very similar. If you upgrade from NT to Win2k, it should not mess things up too much.
For multiple OS's, it depends on how you set things up.
Lilo is probably best for these things, but you will need to read up on LIlo and win2k or NT, and how to install properly.
System commander is the most versatile solution.
see

for more info.
There are other solution such as bot part , which can boot linux from an NT boot manager list.

It is very dependent on how your partitions are set up.
I hope this helps.

I did it before reading your answer, but upgrading solved the problem I was having. Something is different in the install process.
