I am a new-bie, and want to learn MFC programming. My question is that, after I buy VC 6 compiler, and install it. Do I have to purchase MSDN CD s. Are these MSDN CD s for the VC 6 help. Do these MSDN CD s contain information about MFC defined classes and member functions.?

Thanx

VC++ 6 comes with MSDN library CDs so all the SDK docs, MFC docs, samples, etc. are included.

Further, the entire MSDN information library set is available online at http://msdn.microsoft.com at no charge to anyone.

Then MSDN CD s include MFC help files beside describing bare API functions. Did I understand correct?

Yes, you understand correctly.  The MSDN Library CD that comes with VC++ contains a HUGE amount of information, documentation pages, KB articles, samples, magazine and book text, etc.

And again, you can view it all online at http://msdn.microsoft.com
