Crystal report...

I have a problem like in "Details" section of the report it only shows me one record per page.Actually it should show more than one record on the same page unless and until the page ends.

Let me know how can i solve this problem ?

Have you grouped your records.Could you give more details about your problem.
Is there a group in your report or in your format section under details is there a tick on newpage after

I didn't use group in my report.Even than it shows one record per page.

Let me know how i resolve this problem.Please tell me step by step.

Right Click on the Left Hand Side where u find details section or go to the format->section.

There u'll have several options like Page Header, Group Header and so on. Click the details and then see the right hand side where u have several check boxes.

Uncheck the option New Page After

This will sove your problem. This option is prinitng one record per page.

Out of that 11 check boxes only 2 of them are checked.

1)Free-form placement
2)Keep Together

Rest of all are unchecked.Even than it shows only 1 record per page.

Let me know what can i do for the same ?

I found problem.I have one Text field it contains "lengthy text".

Suppose if i remove that field (Decs. field) than everything seems to be ok.

But if i add that field into detail section than preview shows me only one record per page.

This the last thing i would like to know from you.Please help me.

Suppose i want to put selection criteria in my report on particular field.

E.g. i want to select records between 03/01/2000 to 04/01/2000 date.How do i do that ?

From the right click menu of "city" field I selected "select expert".

Select expert dialog box opened and in left dropdown box i select "is equal to".And on right drop down box i entered "{?city}".Than it shows me "This field name is not known".

Ultimately i want to give selection to user so that he can add values in that.

Let me know i do i resolve this problem.

Regarding the lengthy text problem, just create a formual and curb the lenghty text into several parts. of course it would require several formulae. Ex

Formula1
Mid(field, 1, 255)

Formula2
Mid(Field, 256, 511) and so on. that should work.

Date problem. U need to filter the entire report means u can give in your Report Selection Formula itself as

If Field In ('Date1' To 'Date2') Then
    True
Else
    False


And as for the city field, ?City means a parameter friend. If u want to manipulate a parameter, include it in Selection Formual like this

Database field = {?City} (U can select this parameter and field from the list available)
