I was trying to access a URL which had 247 characters in it.<br />

Almost every time (NOTE - NOT Everytime) I tried to access it, it brought down IIS on my server. <br />
<br />
Any idea why this happened?<br />
<br />
After reducing the URL length by moving my html files into a higher directory it worked fine.<br />
<br />
1. Is there a max length for a URL in IIS?<br />
2. Why did the problem above occur most of the times and NOT everytime if there is a max limit?<br />
