Automatically displaying URL's as links

I have a web form with three fields, DATE, TOPIC, and LINK.  In the LINK field users can paste an interesting URL that they found.  The problem is that the URL is not converted to a link, it just appears as text.  I want users to be able to click on the URL and be automatically brought to the site.

Is this possible?  To see what I'm talking about you can visit my site:

Look at my question above!  It converted my website URL to a link!  That's exactly what I need to do, why won't it work for me?  I've tried making it a Rich Text Field but that didn't work...

I don't know if there is a more elegant way to do it, but this should work:

add a computed for display field showing only in read mode with a formula value like '<A HREF="' + LINK + '">' + LINK + '</A>'

It works for me because the entire field just contains the link and nothing else.  I imagine it would be a problem if it was an entire paragraph in the field with just part of it being a link.  I wonder how they do it in this forum...
