Hi, I own a copoy of Fifa2000 and have managed to play it without a 3d card. All you need is a form of graphics card. If yours isn't recognised by the game go to 3d setup when the game is installed and everything should be fine. Fair enough the game won't play at its best but the graphics are still to be admired!
Hope I've helped!

PS Happy playing!

Because that hasn't worked I'd recommend you download a patch from the net, I might be wrong but I think there may be one at: www.3dfiles.com. I'll speak to a friend about it coz I think he might know something. If that doesnt work for godsake just get a compatible 3d card :-)
Cheers

Fifa2000 doesn't require a 3D card to play. Not a MUST.

Go to
Start-Programs-EA Sports-Fifa2000-Fifa2000 3D setup

Select Software rendering with a resolution of 640x480

Ok and try and load up Fifa2000.
If your problem still persist.

I suggest checking if your graphic card has at least 4meg onboard of RAM.

I recommand you get a Voodoo 3 2000 as its' at rock bottom price at the moment and i believe it'll be the best thing that ever happened to your PC.

I have fifa 2000 and it doesn't need a 3dfx card.

use directx 7a and select software rendering.Using this will slow down the performance tremendously unless u have enough memory + hardisk space.

U need to manually assign the virtual memory to make sure that it maximise the utilization of your hard disk. By default it will only get from c drive, so if u have more than one partition, set it to the largest empty partition.

This should work for both win95 and win98 sr2

fifa at least requires a card which is compatible with the "software rendering" option of DirectX. (That is, your card should supply at least Direct3d - even not native hardware support for 3d).

But even that won't make you happy.
