Hi,

What is the function of nbtstat -n?
If i got the below message by using the command nbtstat -n, what does it mean? Why the status can be "conflict"? How to solve it?

Name         Type   Status
----------------------------
STAR    <20> UNIQUE Conflict

This means that you have a computer named STAR elsewhere in the network.
<20> is a string for the computer name.

Ronin,

how to solve the "conflict" status?  Is there any other method beside reboot the system?i encounter login problem as well.  Sometime, the user cannot logon to my system.  Whenevr this error happen, the nbtstat always show the "conflict" status.  Is both event are related issue?  After rebooted the server, the user can login already.  Only some of the user can not logon to the server, not all. Why?

thanks
