I administer an Exchange 5.5 server with service pack 3 installed, and with Outlook 98 as the client.
I'm trying to fix a very intermittent problem which seems to be caused by Outlook 98 (that's my guess anyway).
At the company we have a News message which is delivered daily around 9:00 a.m. The user sending this message first drags-and-drops a copy of a "template" message (in this case, an Outlook .MSG file which has Rich Text formatting and which was created with Word 97 selected as the editor) into their Drafts folder. They then open and modify this template, adding current news and events for the company.
I've already configured the server to send internal mail in a format specified by each User, so in this case since all of our users are set up with Word 97 as their mail editor, internal mail should be sent by default in Word (Rich Text) format.
However, occasionally with no rhyme nor reason the message will go out as Plain Text instead.
