I know that configuring pnp devices has been covered here, but I realy am lost. To start with I am using Linux Mandrake 7.0 complete. I have a sound blaster pci 128 and a smartlink 5634BTV modem. When I type pnpdump it only list my modem and tells me it is not working. First question just what do you uncomment in /ect/isapnp.conf. Next the sound card when I go into /ect/conf.modules the list is very short the only line about my sound card was "alias sound es1371" Please help and don't worry about treating me like I don't know anything, I don't.. I did go to opensoure.creative.com and downloaded some drivers, but not sure how to install them.  I thought I was good in "windows" but this is a new ball game...        Mike

First the modem. I think your modem is a "winmodem" I check there web site and it siad it requries windows. winmodem don't work under linux.

The sound card you should be able to configure in KDE or gome. Under kde chick on the "K" button , then Gome and X apps, then System, then Drakconf. There is a button that says Hardware configuration. Set up you sound card here
