Gunship 2000 in Win98

Trying to get Microprose GunShip 2000 to work in Win98.  The Install works fine, but when starting the game it will prompt for the location of the CD file(gs.gs2)at which point if I type in "d:\gs" it works & then at various other times in the game I am prompted again.  Quite annoying.  Any ideas?

Hello there Redhorse,

It appears that the install didn't go as smooth as expected.  In my opinion, the games needs to be un-installed, system restarted, and then re-install the game.  I believe the registry has lost track of the location of the CD for the game.

If this is a "bootleg" copy of the game, the "gotcha" is the hassle you are going through.

Hope this helps,

Christopher.

I figured out the problem by accident while waiting for an answer, but you are actually right on the money.
The problem was a registry error/lack of data.  Don't know why I didn't check there sooner.
Thanks.

Have a great one,
