Windows 98 2nd Ed. error message

When windows comes up the following error message and solution is shown:

The service profile is damaged:

Re-Install the service profile:

I can't see where or how to re-install the service profile.  

I re-installed Windows and still get the same message.

I have heard of this problem before. I think this is problem with your registry. Perhaps regarding a previous operating system. To access your registry go: START,FIND then type 'regedit' make sure it looks on the c:\ drive. I cant tell you exactly where to find it but i'll be there somewhere. Let me know how you get on!
