How to connect to an Access data source

I've a MSaccess97 database with a single table.
How do I go about writing the connection string.  I have no idea about odbc drivers, I've tried following the online help.
I'm on win98
Through the control panel OBBC datasources I have gone to System DSN, then added Microsoft Access driver (*.mdb) and made up a name 'msaa', then selected a specific database.

Then in Flash under set enviroment I put this:-

msaa:///?driver=obdcjt.dll&url=antennas.mdb&userid=&password=SELECT%20%20FROM%20antennatest

suprisingly (!) it does not work, there are so many things I don't understand I am looking for any help or advice.

Hi Susanna,
It seems like the URL you put under Set Environment is incomplete. You put the query part directly after the password without calling it first, and you left out an essential *, in the end it should ressemble something like this: (after the password part) &query=SELECT%20*%20FROM%20antennatest.
Apart from that you put your DSN at the beginnig of the URL. the first part contains info about the ODBC driver so your DSN should not be there, it is called in another part of the URL. Try the following URL:
fgjdbc:///?driver=sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver&url=jdbc:odbc:msaa&userid=&password=&query=SELECT%20*%20FROM%20antennatest
I got this from the Generator manual and completed it with your specific data
Good Luck

hi Susannahbond,

Please pardon for posting my question here.  I really cant find anymore help from other people.  I think you might have better picture of how to drive the database from MS Access to Macromedia Generator.  I am really a newbie in drivig the database from one source to another source.  Hence can you please help me to overcome my problem. (I have been assigned this task but I really have zero knowledge on it)  I do try many methods of driving the data either from Macromedia help file or online solutions.  Please let me know if you are willing to help me.  Thus i will send you my problem. (this is to show my respcet to you)

Hi John,

Maybe I can help you. I have worked with Generator and MS Access for several months. So send me your problem and I will have a look at it. I also know how hard it is to get specific information about the subject. (I've been there).
