When I execute "setserial -g /dev/ttyS*" it shows me the - ttyS0 UART unkown - the other ports are known to Linux. I have a SoundBlaster not configured yet, a Motorolla Modem voiceSurf 56K, and a serial mouse. when I configured the modem, the mouse stopped to work.  How can I fix this problem !
Note: working with a Petium MMX 166MHZ 128MB RAM no SCSI attached.

Thanking the effort!

check if your serial port are configure right, all you have to check if your ports aren't using the same irq, your problems happens if you have the same irq, because it tries to request the both ports with the same irq, try fixing this, to fixing that use also setserial

to configure you serial port yu can do something like this:

setserial ttyS0 port 0x3F8 irq 4 <--- COM1
setserial ttyS1 port 0x2F8 irq 3 <--- COM2

of course you have to use the correct address and irq of your computer
