Hi, zrzavy.

Netscape announced back in February of a problem with SmartUpdate for Macintosh users of Netscape Communicator 4.7 and earlier. Basically, the software is broken, and no fix is currently available.

Your only option is to download the complete installer for Netscape Communicator. You can also find the installer on many Mac magazines, such as MacAddict.

Not the best answer, mind you, but the only one. People may think IE is a nasty problem, politically or technically, but Netscape suffers from inertia due to lack of programming savvy. Guess you could blame that on IE, too....

Alright, but some other jar archives work fine without any error maesage. I tried to install some plugings for MacPPC from Netscape and no problemo. :-(
