Hello Everyone!

My name is Clare. I am wanting to do a ranking webpage dedicated to kids (so, top schools, top book pages, top games etc)

Basically I want it like hitboss.com or top4all.com but obviously WITHOUT any rude pictures/mp3 things.

It's the format I like - with the various ranking pages for each subject under one umbrella site...

I have tried top sites.cgi and the others but they don't seem to have this "multiple" board feel....

Does anyone know what cgi script hitboss.com is using then? Or is there anything like it I can use?

Thanks for helping a newbie to this forum and I really hope you can help me....

Love ----- Clare Williams :O)

Hi,
Looking at the HitBoss.com site, each of the links on the left hand side seems to point to a different directory named after itself, ie "Games" would go to ".../games/"
I think that HitBoss has a server where it can run files with a .cgi extension anywhere, just by making changing the directory permissions to executable. That way, they could have any amount of Top Lists, the only thing that restricts them is server space, and as CGI generally takes up only a small amount of file space, they could have thousands!

In conclusion, you would need a server that let's you make any directory executable.
You would need to create a different directory for each different topsite you wanted ie "Books", "Schools" etc..
Install the topsites.cgi into each of these directories.

That ought to do it!
Thank you,
Ken
