Conection to internet

I have installed modem in ttyS1 (COM2)
and I have phone number for internet.
But I couldn't connect to internet
How can I configure modem and network for connection?
(My internet provider - internet zahav)

1. Make sure that it's not a winmodem (http://www.o2.net/~gromitkc).

2.
You'll need to find out the IRQ/interrupt of your modem (either from BIOS settings or physical jumpers on the card) and the I/O port.

3. use /sbin/setserial /dev/ttyS1 irq X port Y
to make sure the OS knows how to access the modem

4.  Find out if your ISP uses PAP/CHAP or someother authentication scheme (create appropriate /etc/ppp/pap-secrets file if it is needed)

good point on Linuxconf if it's just that there's a config problem.  But we don't know that yet.  Also to use Linuxconf yairt will have to find out the info about the DNS and there's no point in trying any of that if it's a winmodem.  Point taken thought,
