I have created a com control implemented in dll. One application is using this control and my clients were using this application for last one year. Now I have introduce the functionality of drag and drop in this control and want to give this dll to my customer. Now I want to release new version of Dll so that my clients will get this functionality of my control.
Problem is that I want to release this new version but donot know how to do it. Whether I have to change the name of DLL or just change CLSID. On my local machine I have  unregister the old dll but I can not unregister old dll which my client currently use. Please reply.

just use tools like InstallShield or .INF-Files. These tools see that a certain dll is locked and prompt the user to restart their computer. After doing this, the new component is registered automatically just after the user has logged on.
For .INF-Files look at msdn.microsoft.com !
