Error 1615

I had a hard drive problem and had to uninstall then reinstall Quicken 98; now when I try to "Update" the prices in my stocks it comes back with " Error 1615 - An error ocurred validating a server certificate." I've tried  the troubleshooting in Help but can't make an internet connection in Quicken. Other internet connections are OK. I am running Windows 98.

You will receive this error message if your computer's system date is incorrectly set to a date earlier than January 16, 1998.  This is the first date that Intuit was able to accept electronically filed tax returns. To resolve this error, change your system date to the correct date.Hope it helps.

Both the system date and the date within Quicken are correct.

I found the solution- sort of a Catch 22. It did have to do with the date but, although the date appears correct, it requires an update from Intuit.
Trouble is you can't get the simple update after 1/1/00 -- the only alternative is a download of a complete Quicken 98 (free).  I'm going to award the points to hewittq as it put me on the right path.

Wrong date put me on the correct path. Although the date appeared to be correct, it required an update from Intuit which was not available after 1/1/00. I had to download the complete Quicken 98 (free).
