Windows Update
My computer freezes when I try to access the 'product update' link at the windows update site. Have tried reinstall of Internet Explorer, removal of existing files which enable this process - all with use of help from Microsoft. No body seems to have the answer. RD
Does any of this sound familiar? http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q193/6/57.ASP

Thanks gonzal13. I may not get my question answered at ://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/default.htm but it wont be from lack of places to look - very good site. I'll let you know later how it works out. Syth

Awmtie: Didn't mean to slight you or your suggestion which was very useful-jsut didn't know how to split the points I had available. Thanks a lot, Syth
I would try and clean all your temp interet files. In ie, tools, interent options, remove temporay interent files. This may be the problem.
I would also recommend the maint. stuff,
ie
sfc
defrag
scandisk.
Hope this helps.
