Hello Experts,

I am facing a strange problem. I am having a scheduled agent on my server, which is scheduled to run everyday at 1AM, but the funniest thing is that sometimes it fails to run altogether.  What can be the reason? I am using 4.6.2 server.

Please help

Hi,

There can be many reasons for ur agent not running at the predefined schedule. First of all check ur agent log to see that if there is any problem with the aent script. Sometimes the agent fall over due to the error in the script.

If there is no error with agent log, then  u need to check the server log. Check what the server was doing at the time when the agent was scheduled to run. Sometimes what happens is another scheduled agent is doing a long processing at that time and ur other agent does not get triggered at all.

If that is the reason, try changing the schedule of ur agent.

Hope this will help u out.
