WAP

Hai...

I'm interested in WAP but i do not know exactly how it works. Anybody mind to tell me about this?

I would like to know more about WAP. What do i need to develop this application such as a good server etc. Is there any latest tools that we can use in making  the fastest development in WAP technology ?

Tq in advance.

WAP- Wireless Application Protocol info can be found at www.wapforum.com

This is the most extensive resource you will find.

Its members phone.com, motorola, ericcson and nokia all have WAP toolkits and info on their respective sites.

Check it out.

Thanx.I've did surf the site (www.wapforum.com ).

I just wonder how the WAP application works. Make it simple, we develop it using WML/WML Script and put it inside our web server. Is it right? So, how to run the application?

I have just install WAPLite(WAP gateway) but I've no idea how to make any WAP application in the sense to connect it thru our mobile devices.

Tq again.

These two links should help you out:
http://www.wapforum.com/what/presentation.htm
http://www.wapforum.com/what/technical.htm

Basically when someone types in your URL in a wap browser or a wap enabled device they will be directed to your web site.  If you have simple wml pages there it will display them.

A WAP gateway enables you to use WMLScript and other features specific to WAP.

You can use server side scripting languages like ColdFusion, ASP, Java Servlets to generate dynamic wml or web applications for WAP.
