open sqlplus with command line parameter

Is there a way to open sqlplus with command line parameters that specify the login/password and host string.....
I tried it with
sqplus scott/tiger myhost
it gives error message......
any suggestions...

where myhost is the database alias defined in your tnsnames.ora
