I have a 3-pane frameset.  The left pane offers the links for the main navigation.  The top right frame has the submit button and a button to open another form.  The bottom right frame has the actual form.  How can I use the submit button in the top right frame to save the information in the bottom right frame on the form?

Use in your click handler for the submit in the upper right frame ...

parent.frames(2).document.forms(0).submit()

where 2 is probably the correct index for the frames collection

or

parent.frames("bottomrightframename").document.forms(0).submit()

where bottomrightframename is the name of the frame you want to submit.

If you have to use the first version but you don't know the number you can add a text field to your top right frame and then do the following iteratively until you get the correct index in the click handler for the submit in the upper right frame

assume text field is called FrameName ...

var FrameName = parent.frames(0).Name
document.forms(0).FrameName.value = FrameName

Just change the frames(0) to frames(1), frames(2) etc.

The code for the submit handler in the upper right frame should be set to JavaScript - forgot to mention that
