Creating Permission to enter home page

How can I create login name and password to the home page?
1 Solution
Here's one way.  DocA and confidential would be replaced by whatever would meet your needs.  From <script language="JavaScript"> through </script> is what you would incorporate into the <head> area of your html document.  Good luck!

<script language="JavaScript">
var name;
var password;

var name1="DocA";
var pass1="confidential";

password=prompt('Please enter your name',' ');
password=prompt('Please enter your password',' ');

if (name!=name1)
if (password!=pass1)

<META name="Microsoft Border" content="tlb, default">
<META name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 4.0">
<META name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">

<P>Congratulations!&nbsp; You have successfully entered your password.</P>

You can do this several ways. You can put some ASP code on the page to do this. not very hard to do if you know some basic asp.

There are components you can install to do this, asplogin is one of them i think.

You can also do this by managing the frontpage permissions. You may be able to do this within frontpage itself (tools, security, permissions - set it to only registered users have browse access).

If its an NT machine and you have access to it you can set the NT file permissions to block access to a page. You'd need to have administrator access to the server or be able to contact someone who has administrator access.

if you give some more details as to what type of computer your website is on and if you know any ASP it would make it easier to answer this.
