If some of you dont know what a MUD or MUSH is, its a kind of a text rp game.  Im trying to create a simple, i stress simple, mud client in VB 5.  I have tried trying the winsock control, but it gives me an unknown protocal message.  If anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey givenRandy, post that 2nd URL to

http://www1.experts-exchange.com/Computers/Programming/Windows/Visual_Basic/Q_10341878.html

I am working on something almost exactly the same as you Shackman and I can not get past the ANSI color.  I have a richtextbox and a textbox below it so you can submit the command.  It will connect easily but as you know with MUDS and stuff like that, they all have colors, and assuming its the same thing, you will run into this problem.  I will also play around with the second link and see if I can help you out more.
