Hello, I am a VB Programmer. I want to start learning Java . I got this book by Deitel & Deitel it looks fine. THey have mulitiple examples. I can't find how they reference the libraries. javax and these for example that use diologboxes. How do i find them to reference them in my project ?

Before that U have to set proper

path and classpath variables


path = c:\jdkhome\bin;

classpath = .;c:\jdkhome\lib\tools.jar; c:\jdkhome\lib\dt.jar;


where jdkhome is the directory where U have installed the jdk


I gave these settings for jdk1.2
