windows and mandrake linux problems

Apperantly I was supposed to get a book and a cd with the mandrake-linux complete set that I didnt get it keeps reffering to a cd #3 that isnt there,it came with 2 cds and an empty 3rd cd area which is supposed to have partition magic on it, well anyway I was installing it without knowing(im a linux newbie) and it said in the installation that it was creating a partition for linux ok I thought good, then when I rebooted Igot Lilo and had linux or windows as an option I tried going into windows to make sure everything was going alright and is said windows ini file to large, what did it do?, install on the same partition? whenin linux I can see my normal files under /mnt anyone know of anyway I can fix this? I have been looking for support for over 5 hours and it appears there is a TOTAL lack of it,once its installed there is no troubleshooting help anywhere, manuals or the internet, hope you can help me and thanks for your time

Hmmmm. Here is what I would do. Make a dos boot disk, and boot into dos. Then backup your windows.ini, then cut out the parts that are nonessential. If you arn't sure what you can get rid of, guess, and if you are wrong you can restore and try again.
