Install third IDE device?

Is it possible to install a third IDE device on an IDE data cable connector? The system is a Compaq 5700 series with two hard drives, a DVD and a ZIP drive already installed. I would like to install a R/W CD drive without removing any of the currently installed devices. Is this possible?

each IDE controller suppoprt only 2 devices,

so for instaling 5th device you must install add-on IDE controller
like this one
