How to Debug VB Component under IIS?

I'm using VB 5.0 sp 3 and IIS 4.0 under sp 6.  I have VB installed on the NT server that we have IIS on.  Is there any way to debug a VB component in the IDE on this machine (when accessing from IIS)?  I have a very simple ASP script that creates the component, passes the Form variables and a reference to the Response object and the component handles the rest.  I have a problem that is only occurring when I call the component from IIS, and my patience is wearing thin from calling text-file trace debugging routines.

Not as convenient as VB IDE, but beats the heck out of compile/try/write to file cycles.  Thanks, I'll give it a shot Azra.

Azra:

I never did get it to work.  Even after finding more explicit info in MS KB Q166275.  Everything seems to be working until I request the script from the Web server to "run" the program.  It doesn't hit the breakpoint or seem to execute code in the debugger at all (even after setting the NT account up to act as part of the OS and repeatedly calling the web page as the MS article suggests.)

You are correct, however that this is the only way to do it.  Thanks for the help.

Since this solution is much cleaner, I'll post this comment even though this question is way out of date.  Refer to https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/20584606/Security-issues-ActiveX-component-can't-create-object-The-page-cannot-be-displayed.html

Visual Basic is Microsoft’s event-driven programming language and integrated development environment (IDE) for its Component Object Model (COM) programming model. It is relatively easy to learn and use because of its graphical development features and BASIC heritage. It has been replaced with VB.NET, and is very similar to VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), the programming language for the Microsoft Office product line.
