FaxMaker cannot convert HTML

Hello,

I'm using GFi's FaxMaker 7.0 with Word 2000, There is no problem to convert attached files that are doc, rtf, txt, etc. However, when I attach an HTML file, the FaxMaker won't work.

Would you please help to solve the problem?

 Many thanks!

Rdgs,
Anders.

Do you get a specific error?  I have looked at www.faxmaker.com and checked their support page.  It lists quite a few individual error messages.
And here are a few.
Q: When sending a document file as an attachment, I get an error 1700. How can I correct this error?
Error 1700 means that file association does not exists or that the application failed to start up. Check that the printer driver is installed correctly on the server machine and that it is installed on the GFIFAX port. Check that the MS Word program is installed on the server and that there is association to print with the doc files (to check this, click the right mouse button on the file in Windows Explorer and if association is present, one of the options displayed should be the print option).

Q: I sometimes get an error 1701 when sending an attachment.
Error 1701 means that the file to fax conversion timed out.

Check that the printer driver is installed on both server and client machines.
Check that the document program is installed on the server and the client machine and that there is the association to print with the doc files (to check this, click the right mouse button on the file in Windows Explorer and if association is present, one of the options displayed should be the print option).
Check that the FAXmaker printer driver on the server machine is installed on the GFIFAX port and is set up as default printer.
If you are running FAXmaker as a fax service, ensure that someone is logged on in Windows NT, and that you have used the system account with the option 'allow service to interact with desktop'. You can have NT log on automatically and lock the workstation using a utility in the Windows resource NT kit.
Ensure that the SYSTEM has printing permissions on the FAXmaker printer (Check in the fax server MiscellaneousFAQs to see how this can be done).
Q: When sending an attachment with the fax, the fax fails and I get an error 1705.
Error 1705 means 'The extension specified is not listed in the allowed extensions list in the document conversion allowed extensions'. To be able to send files as an attachments you need to do the following:

1.       Install the program used by the attachment (e.g., Excel for .XLS files) on the server machine.

2.       Include the extension for the conversion in the fax server, document conversion tab. You should enter the extension name in the Extension field, 'Print' in the command field and click on add. E.g., if you want to use .XLS files you should enter 'XLS' in the extension field, 'Print' in the command field , click on 'Add' and you will have 'XLS=Print' displayed in the Allowed extensions display.

3.       Restart the FAX server.

You should now be able to send files with the configured extension as attachments.

Q: When sending an attachment with the fax, I get an error 1709?
To solve error 1709, follow this procedure:

1.       Stop the FAXmaker FAX server.

2.       Open the fax server configuration.

3.       In the Document Conversion tab select the option to use Office 95.

4.       Save and close, and restart the machine.
