I get the following error when attempting to run an opengl program.  Compiling/linking was successful.

GLUT: Fatal Error in planet: OpenGL GLX extension not supported by display: :0

My platform: Mandrake 8.0 (kernel 2.4.3), Mesa 3.4.1

I'm puzzled.  Please help.  thanks.

Hmmm... I managed to run the demos that came with Mesa, however, so I think my graphics driver is fine.

Well ...

OpenGL GLX extension not supported by display -- means that you tried to create an OpenGL window (from a cereal machine) to a display incapable of creating an OpenGL window ..

The puzzling thing is: the demos that came with Mesa 3.4.1 compiled and ran okay.

So I ended up copying the Mesa makefiles and that seems to work.  I still haven't nailed down why this is, but I'm happy as long as I get my programs compiling and running.

Thanks.
