FTP download

I have a prog.exe for downloading.  There is no problem using a HTTP download .  What about firewall if the company is behind it.

Cud someone teach me how to set up the page for FTP downlaod?

normally  we see something like ftp.mycon.com..  how do I do that?

If the company is behind a firewall, it is normaly not possible to do an ftp download.
If you need something like ftp.something.com you need an ftp server.

so companies have to do http downloads?
why is it that some system cannot go to the http pages.  Ever encounter such problems??

ftp is a pointed a security risk. So most firewall permit to do ftp and the users have to do http downloads.

But, explain what you mean with "why is it that some system cannot go to the http pages.  Ever encounter such problems??"
http should be possible. May be the firewall permit access only to some domains.
