Are there any media converter for serial to fast ethernet

Yes there are, and they are called routers.
Most routers have what's called a "WAN interface",
which may be RS-232 or V.35 (or other serial protocol), throught which they forward fast ethernet packets received on their "LAN interface(s)".

I'm sorry

Let me be a little more specific. I am looking for a serial multiplexor which will convert that signal to ethernet so I can plug it into a switch.

The answer is still a router. The serial link is the WAN port and the LAN port is Ethernet. I know of no other device that can do what you are asking for.

What is the signalling on the serial link? Are you looking to connect two LAN's via this multiplexed serial line? The answer is still a router...
