what is the best java connectivity to ORACLE8i ..

I am trying to write a services program on java, which need to work with high valumes like 2 billion records.

What is the best ..java connectivity available.

I see may choices .. which is really confusing.

  is it 1 jdbc2  or
        2 thin driver or
        3 SQLJ
        4 java oci

jdbc2.. type 4 drivers..
it also depends on your database.. for oracle.. the thin drivers that come along with oracle8i is considered very good.. try those..

use connection pooling and caching for improving performance..

SQLJ and JDBC are tightly integrated.
LJ programs are shorter and easier to debug.
LJ can perform sytactic and semantic checking on the code.
LJ provides strong type checking of query results.
JDBC provides finger grained control over the SQL statements and offers true dynamic capability.

Please note u can mix JDBC and SQLJ statements in your program. One way to do it is through connection context sharing and suing multi-threading.
