what is F/X

so many strange acronyms in this field... DHCP, PPP, HRIS, etc.

but what the heck is F/X, not FX, but F/X? are they the same?

F/X: Hollywood-speak for "special effects" in a production.

I'm glad that's all it is and it's simple...I wouldn't want to memorize yet another acronym
