Hitachi Visionbook Plus 4000 series info

I've been given a semi-working Hitachi Visionbook laptop.  Unlike IBM, Hitachi doesn't post the service manuals for their old laptops online.  Two questions: does anyone have a list of what the mini-switches on the mainboard do?  And is there a way to clear the CMOS?

Thanks

> And is there a way to clear the CMOS in this laptop?

For desktop-computers, the standard answer is "remove the battery for a few minutes.

Without opening-up my VisionBook, I don't know if this will work.

hi myeck

for clearing the cmos of the laptop, if u r able to access the bios of the laptop on boot up, go into the bios on check the option for "Restore Default Settings" or a similar option. this should bring the bios settings back to what they were when the laptop left the factory.
