Terminal Services performance vs NT performance

I have just set a application that is distributed by terminal services (w2kas)/citrix metaframe 1.8 sp3. My problem is that the applciation performance via terminal/citrix is about 50% of that when i run the applciation from a normal windows nt workstation or 2000 workstation.

I have tried everything from doing all the registry changes suggested through microsoft and citrix support forums, but i still can't get the performance.

the system i am running interacts with 3 application servers using DCOM, and an oracle 8i rdbms system.

I  just don't understand why i can't get the same performance out of the terminal services/citrix server, even when only one client is connected.

Can anyone help? this is very urgent hence the number of points

do you supply this application as a seamless window?

how does the apllication perform, when you connect with the remote admin terminal session or run the application locally on the server?

can you check another application with the citrix terminal if its also slow?

i do supply it as a seamless window, the server is running in application mode. i haven't tried running the app locally on the server for a while so i can't remember but i'll try it again and note the peformance.

graphically and thin client-wise, the app performs well, it's wen it's actually when running a task that the performance doesn't match up t normal fat clients.....

peformance of things like notepad are ok.
I assume that RAM is not the problem on the server.

can you test to provide the app in a terminal desktop. I'm not sure but heard of performance probs in seamless windows.

will try running the app in the normal window. memory is not a problem, i have 6 GB in there, as well as 8 x Xeon 700Mhz 2MB Cache.

very over spec'd, but only one server for the farm!!
