Server extension wtih Email

I have a form that is to send an e-mail on submition, but server extensions must be installed. I get
that message sayign that server extensions have not been configured to send mail. How do I set this
up properly. I have had reunarounds and need this working.
I know I need to configure the server extensions and I have had pockets of information filled in.
Can someone provide step by step on how to insure it's all there and setup properly.
Right down to what I am to enter in all the settings......

Yes I have tried all of the above
Once enter sent to emailin submit it adds a line "[FrontPage Save Results Component]  
But that http://127.0.0.1/yourwebname/yourpage.htm did not have this line, So how to tell FP that I will upload this page ultimately to a server
which will have Frontpage extensions wth email so dont give this message and error that ur ISP doent
have FP ServerExtension

Ok...the reason you see that in either the Preview tab or locally on your browser is FP needs the site to be published to work.

You can continue to work even with the server extensions have not been configured error message as long as you publish or save your page live to the server with FP extensions.

In the form field properties-->Options-->Email Results-->  at the bottom put a check mark next to reply to line, and then put the name of the email field in that box.

You last comment in the first one was in Feb.  Post another comment telling the Experts you still need help.  The same can be done in the second one.

Also, because they will be low on the list of open questions, open a 0 point question in the appropriate ta with a link to the open question, informing everyone that you still need help.

Hi some times it works but some time not can u see please go to http://muftis.hypermart.net/feed.html. Why [FrontPage Save Results Component]
appear on the screen, lasttime I uploaded the site it wasnt there but now its there, and I am sure that the server has FP Extensions, Why its so ????

the [FrontPage Save Results Component] message will appear if you ftp instead of publish the site.  You can still do this, but then you will have to open the site "live" from FrontPage and hit the save button.

The link you point to gives me a 404 (page not found) error.

Yes when I published it with Cute FTP it does this problem. It mean even if I use dreamweaver, I'll still get this problem or not, if yes then how to fix it, as my whole whole site is in dreamweaver and jsut feed and confirm pages are dsigned in FP???

Yes, you will always have this problem if you ftp the pages or if you use Dreamweaver with them.  You are attempting to use FrontPage components.  FrontPage needs to control them or they are useless to you.

Then why I get error once I tried to publish the web at my other domain  when I write in the publishing destination

FP at once gives error that its unbale to open or SERVER Extension are not installed, atleast it should try to conenct to site and then give this error but it seems it a sytyx error and FP did not tried to even connect to siet and check it out, Am I wrong in giving error or why, even if I write http://www.microsoft.com it gives error or http://www.cnn.com , whats wrong ????

Sorry.  I was under the impression that that was fixed.

Have you contacted your server administrator?  That looks like it may be a function of the smtp server.  Your form is formatted correctly.

Hi I have got one problem as u mentioned that multiple emails with ; seperating them should have no problem , but it has . When I uase two emails seperated by ;  and  I publish the page and visit my site it gives "[FrontPage Save Results Component]", while with single email it works fine ??? Why

The Save Results Component should not occur if you publish.

If server extensions are installed and you publish it that error should not occur.

Try this.  Open the offending page.  Then hit the Edit button (in IE 5 and up).  You will be asked for your user Id & pw for the web.  Once you input them, you will have access to the site "live".  Hit the save button.

That error should disappear.

Nop. The moment I modify the email from RTC@houston.rr.com to RTC@houston.rr.com;fmufti@softhome.net and saved it again the [FrontPage Save Results Component],remove second email its OK ?????

I do have one concern though...I've seen you in the DW ta....you do know that these FP components and DW don't mix, right?  DO NOT open or publish this page from DW.  That may be part of the problem.

Actually, if you are going to use FP components instead of doing the scripting yourself it is better not to open any part of the web with DW.

No I publish the web with FP and the feed back form is also in FP, Rest of the pages even if designed in DW doesnt matter as long as I publish it wiith FP

Do I have to paste the code as it is as HTML, as I did it but doesnt get the foem appearance or have to do some modification in my existing HTML Code???

The easiest thing to do to strip all the extraneous stuff that EE puts in is to copy it, paste it into Notepad, then copy it again from Notepad.

Then you can paste it directly into your HTML.

The exact same thing is still happening?  Even with the page I emailed you, although it is working on my server?

I never unsubscribe to questions I've answered, so I will always be able to answer you.

My only guess is that it has to be your server.  Obviously it is working fine on my server, as you have seen.

Still waiting for my client to get a good palce to host the site.  Hope u can wait for few more days,

They don't have the server extensions set up properly....that would be my first guess.  Try to get a server with ASP...this would be much easier if we could do it with CDONTS.

CDONTS is a component used to send email from your server through an asp page.

You'll also want to learn ASP....eventually.  www.asp101.com www.activeserverpages.com
