Experts only please,

I don't want any urls sent, code please.

this is the problem

I have a comma delimited file with a header,

the header always changes or can change which then causes a problem when i go to read the body

the program works if the header remains the same delimiter.

but if it isnt it screws up

I want to ignore the first line of the text file and then continue to read the rest.

this is how i do it at the moment.

open "c:\filename.txt" for input as #1
input #1,header1,header1a,headerab
do while not eof(1)
input #1,body1,body2,body3,body4,etc,etc
wend

close#1

how do i jump over the first line (Header)

if i could solve this it wouldnt matter how long or short the head was it wouldnt affect the rest of the file when reading in from the file

cheers

Andy

Use Line Input which reads the entire line in

Dim strJunk As String

open "c:\filename.txt" for input as #1
Line input #1,strJunk
do while not eof(1)
input #1,body1,body2,body3,body4,etc,etc
wend

close#1
