Hi experts,

can you please tell me if it is possible toinstall and run both Delphi 4.0 and Delphi 6.0on the same PC? I am currently using some components under Delphi 4.0 which are not yet available for Delphi 6.0, so I consider to run 2 releases of Delphi on the same PC. Do you see problems? There is enough space on my harddisk btw.

Hi mathes...   :-)

I'm currently running D4 and D5 on the same PC, so I'm quite sure it will be no problem running D4-D6 on the same PC (which I'm planning).

Regards, Madshi.

Hi Madshi,

thank you for the good news. I am happy to learn that I can run serveral releases on the same PC.

And yes, there is a German release already available.

However I prefer to use the English version. Here are my reasons: Whenever Borland/Inprise releases a new patch, it is at first only released for the English version. If you use the German release you have to wait quite a long time until you get a patch which fixes your problems. You experts will know that you can't use an English patch in connection with a
German release of Delphi.

You can buy both the English and the German version at this site:

(This should be actually one line of text)

I hope this helps.

Thanx...  :-)  Yes, you're right about the patches. The problem is that when using the english version, all the error/exception messages and so on are also in english, and the customers of the firm I'm working for are all german people, so I can't really use the english Delphi version. For my private use I would also do that, but I can't because of my job...

Regards, Madshi.

Hi experts,

I just recieved a phone call by SOS software.

They told me this: "You can order Delphi now, but it won't be shipped before the 26th week this year.

Note: I am not a staff member of www.sos-software.de and I don't get money if you place an order there.
