zones info, the slave server did not request new changing of the zone files from master server any more,
i want to force the slave to download new info from the
master, but i don't know how to do that, please tell me the
details,thanks

3 things you want to check.

1. Make sure you are allowing zone transfer (check your mastrer config file)

2. make sure you are incrementing serial number after modification (zone files at master)

3. Make sure you specified correct master address from slave's config file. Don't forget to put the semi-colon.

By default, when you make changes at the master and reload the zone files, master server sends the notification to slaves.  Slaves then contact the master and download the zone file, compares the serial number.  If the serial number of new zone file is smaller or equal, slaves discards the changes.

oh,jimmyyoon:
you mean, after i do any changing in zone files,i must
increase the serial number manually, only if i increase
the number, the slave will accept new changing on primary
server,right?
would like to see dkloes' answer, this means "force" slav
e to update zone info by command. (although there may be st
h. wrong with this "ypinit" command,i will ask dkloes below

dkloes:
i think this command is for " NIS domain",not " DNS doma
in",because i only know parts of NIS and nerver used it bef
ore,i am not sure this will get all ZONE FILES on primary
DNS server?
