removing duplicate entries from outlook 2000 addressbook

is there an automated way to remove the duplicates?
some guy in my company imported the whole address book twice... i dont want to sit there deleting duplicates forever...
I come from LINUX so I dont know about macros but I have a strong programming base. if somebody could at least tell me a couple hints on how to code a macro for doing the removal, I'll be glad.
or at least, point me to a source of info.

Just to check before you go to all the trouble.  If there was no data in the address book before the double import, just delete all entries and import once.

Assuming that the above is not feasible, you can use the date/time that the items were created to remove duplicates, as those imported together will be bunched together when you sort the folder by the "Modified" field.

I should have thought of it... well, i didnt know that you could sort contacts by the time they were added...
