how can i load a bitmap from an external file without using resources.....??

Use the LoadImage API.  To wit:

HANDLE hImage = ::LoadImage (NULL,
               "C:\\Images\\Fish.bmp",
               IMAGE_BITMAP, 0, 0,
               LR_LOADFROMFILE | LR_CREATEDIBSECTION);
